Our Lithium Battery by Air online course was the first fully approved online training for lithium batteries in the UK by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our courses support learning for shipping Class 9 Lithium Batteries covering the transporting and shipping of Lithium ion UN3480, UN3481, Lithium metal UN3090 and UN3091 by Air, Road or Sea transportation.

The in-depth Carriage of Lithium Batteries training provides delegates with the skills and knowledge required to correctly pack, mark and label and prepare shipments of lithium batteries for transport by air, road or sea. Providing the confidence required to transfer the knowledge of the regulations into their work environment.

This training is suitable for employees requiring more knowledge on batteries; shippers, freight forwarders, operators, cargo screener's.

Which course is right for me?

Adequate Instruction Section II Batteries – This is for shippers that are transporting Low level cells and batteries by air transport. If your cells or batteries are within the limits of the table – you should take an Adequate Instruction for Section II Batteries by Air this will mean that your organisation is compliant with Part 1.6 of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and UK Law.

  Cell Battery
Lithium Ion ≤ 20 wh ≤ 100 wh
Lithium Metal  ≤ 1 gram ≤ 2 gram

If your cells or batteries that are in excess of the table above any employee that packs or ships the Lithium Batteries require a UK CAA/IMDG/ADR certification in order to transport the goods.

The Lithium Battery training courses compliments the Full IATA / IMDG / ADR Dangerous Goods training or may be completed as standalone training.

All courses conclude with either a CAA Examination or a Knowledge Test. All successful candidates  in Air courses will receive a certification in shipping lithium batteries, valid for two years, after which they must refresh their qualification. We do recommend for all other modes or Section II Batteries that refresher training is completed every 2 years due to nature of the product and the evolution of changes within the regulations.

Note: On-line versions will require the use of the latest version of the Dangerous Goods regulations by either Air, Road or Sea.  If you do not have this resource, please add temporary online access to you basket along with the course when you purchase. Cost is £25 for 10 days access.

If you know that you require In-house training or you would like a company invoice for a number of delegates on the on-line training, please contact us. There are discounts available for larger groups.
